I have been living an active fitness lifestyle for over five years, working out consistently committed pretty much every single day with maybe some Sundays off. I was exercising outside for more than 80% of my workouts.
I started going downhill this past August. I went to visit my native Chicago Illinois (hahaha) for my hubby’s family picnic tradition and to visit my mom who is living in Rockford Illinois. I still exercised while on my trip but if you know Chicago they don’t get a lot of Sun-Days, meaning a lot of Chicago days are gloomy and the sun doesn’t peek enough through those thick clouds to have beautiful Sun-Days like Miami. After my Chicago trip, I returned back to Miami and left again that weekend on another trip to New Jersey. I was there for over 2 weeks back and forth to New Jersey and New York. Wow, New Jersey was such a pretty place, but I exercised inside because New Jersey didn’t have many pretty Sun-Days either. New York City, even if the sun would come out you can’t really see it because the buildings are so tall they cover up the little bit of Sun-Day you might get.
When I returned back to Miami I tried to get back into the rhythm of my exercising outside but we had a hurricane coming in so it was total crazy chaos in Miami before the hurricane so rather than stressing out I just would wake up and workout in my house. I have a whole gym setup in my house. I have lots of balls (ha-ha) yes I have all kinds of balls, big balls, light balls, heavy balls, Bosu ball my favorite. I have heavyweights over 350 pounds maybe more but who’s weighing… I have TRX, steps, power tower, skateboard, etc…I even have my pink boxing gloves but I don’t like boxing although I don’t mind punching a few people sometimes. While there was total chaos I was still working out daily indoors of course which began to be so convenient. After Miami got hit with the hurricane that we really got so freaking lucky that it was not another Harvey and Maria nightmare in Miami.…. the cleanup was a mess so while still all the chaos I was still waking up and working out at home ay ay ay so convenient. I found it to be so much easier to just wake up and workout at home than having to hustle through traffic to get to the park. Its less than 15 minutes away but if I leave after 7am it will take me an hour in traffic. The Miami TRAFFIC! Ugh! I asked myself do I really need to sit in traffic when I can just workout at home? It became a couple of months of not exercising outside and I began noticing that I was getting more sort of achy and I was working out a lot less in time than when I exercising outdoors. My mojo was just not the same. When I exercising outside I was able to workout for over two hours and many times I would get home full of energy & I would continue to workout in my home gym for another hour or so. I was working out for over 3 hours easily and I was recovering every single day just fine. Even on the days, I was pressing heavy weights my recovery was just fine. I mean I was feeling normal pain good pain but the past 3 months that I was exercising becoming a fitness hermit indoors and not getting the sunlight in my workout that I used to I was beginning to notice many symptoms. Then I ran across an article on vitamin D and it finally hit me! OMG, I have been missing out on all the FREE Vitamin D Miami has to offer by being lazy and not getting a little inconvenienced I’m totally missing out on the FREE Vitamin D!
Even though I was taking my daily dose of my Isotonix wonder woman juice religiously I wasn’t getting the Free Vitamin D from exercising outside. My body wasn’t absorbing the calcium in my wonder woman cocktail or getting the other benefits that Free Vitamin D offers. I was getting FREE Vitamin D and I didn’t even realize it. I mean I did know about the Free Vitamin D but I just forgot you know how free stuff can be. We take for granted the free stuff until we have to pay for it. The best Vitamin D is the FREE one. You don’t have to exercise to get Free Vitamin D you just need to get some Sun in your life. Sensible sun exposure on bare skin for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times per week allows most people to produce sufficient vitamin D. I’m not saying to go out every day and lay out to tan. The best sun kiss is that early morning sun; Miami has such beautiful morning sunrises Miami always has the sun out even if it’s raining, even if it’s cloudy the Miami sun is so strong that it will always peak through. I love it. I love the sun, maybe it’s a Leo thing we are so connected to the sun. So many people are worried about getting skin cancer so they hide from the sun and little do they know they are exposing their bodies to more cancers by depriving themselves of getting that sun kiss also known as Free Vitamin D!
I quickly changed my workout routine again right after the Thanksgiving holiday I was back in the park soaking up all the Free Vitamin D Miami has to offer, I have been overdosing on Vitamin D lately since I read that article. Amazing the things we relearn when we read. I even began riding bike again on the weekends!
- Vitamin D for healthy bones.
- Vitamin D helps your immune system,
- Vitamin D helps high blood pressure just sitting in traffic can give you high blood pressure so it’s a win-win!
- Vitamin D helps with depression that was a big deal for me to read that because depression is definitely not cool and I was noticing some depression kicking in. Notice people who are deprived of sunlight suffer from severe depression. Parts of the world where there is less sun exposure they suffer from higher depression.
Vitamin D deficiency is serious and can lead to serious health issues. Even if you think you are getting enough you probably are not or not any at all.
Vitamin D deficiency is linked to certain cancers like prostate and colon but especially breast cancer so ladies it’s important to get that Vitamin D.
Vitamin D deficiency is also linked to osteoporosis you cant wait till you have it to start supplementing because it will be too late. I’m not a spring chicken I’m forty-six but I can work out better & stronger than when I was in my teens actually ever I have never been this active Ever. But I need all the vitamin D I can get to keep my bones strong & healthy. Menopausal woman need Vitamin D because of the changes in your body while going through this event that feels it will never end UGH! Get out and get some Sun!
Vitamin D deficiency is linked to brain health and well let’s just say I come from not the best brain crops so I try to protect and do as much for my mental brain health as much as possible the more you know.
Vitamin D deficiency is also linked to hair loss! That’s a big deal for everyone men and woman. Look at Prince William what happened to his hair?! Women are losing hair just like men maybe worse that’s a sign you are not getting enough vitamin D.
Need I say any more on how crucially important it is to get that Vitamin D into your system, but don’t freak out if you live somewhere that the sun doesn’t shine or if you have one of those J-O-B-s that never let you see the sun. There still is hope. I’d say quit and move somewhere there is better sun but I know many can’t do that & don’t go buying a huge bottle of generic horse pill vitamin Ds because that won’t work either. If you are deprived of Free Vitamin D you’re going to have to buy it so be sure to buy one that works like Isotonix® Vitamin D with K2 in an isotonic form which means you will absorb it within 5 minutes which is so important to absorb your vitamins. That’s how they work wonders when you absorb your vitamins. I’m ordering my bottle to drink my vitamin D along with my Wonder Woman juice for those days that I don’t get free Vitamin D in my life.
